Is that a runner using the popular-and disgusting-strategy of smooshing donuts together, to take 'em down four at a time? See more photos <http://www.newsobserver.com/news/health_science/story/322884.html> from this year's Krispy Kreme Challenge.

Hook 'em Horns! Look for Bart at the Austin Marathon this weekend, where he'll be speaking at the expo (at 5 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday), signing books, and running past the University of Texas's campus when he goes for 26.2 on Sunday.

The Quote
"They think, 'If he can do it, I can do it, it doesn't matter.' And I think that attitude is kind of a little bit insane."

Neither Snow Nor Rain Nor... Well, Maybe Snow
<http://dailyviews.runnersworld.com/2010/02/neither-snow-nor-rain-nor-well-maybe-snow.html>
Mark Remy  <http://rodale.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54f86af5688330120a888e0a7970b-popup>Holy rock salt! Are you kidding me with this weather?
As you probably know, if you've been reading or watching or listening to any form of media whatsoever, or as you definitely know, if you live where it's happened, a humongous snowstorm has much of the eastern U.S. We're talking tons of snow here. My neighborhood looks less like eastern Pa., and more like. The sidewalks have been transformed into snow-walled, ceiling-less hallways. I keep waiting for loudspeakers to announce, "Imperial troops have entered the base."
I am ashamed to say that, because of the weather, I skipped the 5-mile easy run that was on my schedule yesterday. Just couldn't do it. In my defense, I did spend a fair amount of time walking/bounding through deep snow with the dog (see above). And what seemed like 19 hours shoveling.
That counts for something, right?
So: Report in, please. Do you have a paralyzing amount of snow where you live? And if so, has it kept you from running?
Also, if you haven't been running, what have you been doing with yourself instead? Napping? Drinking cocoa? Making the world's coolest snowman, which shoots flames from its mouth <http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/features/baltimoremomblog/2010/02/the_firebreathing_snowman_of_b.html>?
Leave a comment, below, and let us snow.
Sorry -- leave a comment and let us know.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to figure out how and where I can do today's mile repeats.
